Before the gemstones, before the gold, and before the silver, there was a young girl in a white cotton dress and childhood braids, digging in the sun-warmed dirt of Turkey.

Armed with nothing but a gardening tool and a vision, at 7 years old, our founder discovered that the red clay beneath her feet held infinite potential. In a scene that felt like a vintage postcard, she would sit in the earth, fashioning raw medallions from the ground and hand-etching designs into the clay.

With a mother’s encouragement, those medallions were 'fired' in the family’s kitchen oven and strung onto simple shoelaces. Sold to friends for just a nickel, those first necklaces weren't just a childhood business—they were the beginning of a lifelong commitment to the art of jewelry design.

Today, D.S. Jane has traded the red clay for fine jewelry quality, but the spirit of that
young girl in the white dress remains. We still believe that with a little imagination and a lot of heart, the earth’s raw beauty can be transformed into something timeless. Every piece we curate today honors that original spark of curiosity and the belief that true luxury begins with a story.
